Skookum is seeking a skilled and driven Painter with a professional attitude.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Responsible for painting, maintenance, or repair, the interior and exterior of buildings, structures, and facilities painting different types of surfaces such as wood, drywall, plaster, metal, concrete, masonry, fiberglass, plastic, and glass.
Tapes, flushes, repairs, and applies texturing, wallpaper, and acoustic layers on a variety of surfaces.
Adjusts colors when necessary; utilizes enhanced finishing skills when appropriate.
Applies materials to new construction, existing, multi-story buildings, alterations, and remodeling's.
Shall paint street and curb markings, special parking markings, road speed limits, caution lines, stop bars, yield lines and directional markings.
Perform wall to wall and entire ceiling painting on an as needed basis during change of occupancy maintenance; spot painting is prohibited.
Operates, cleans, and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electrostatic/pneumatic sprayers, pumps, etc.
Safely stores and labels all materials.
Reads and understands blueprints, work plans and maps.
Responsible for proper storage, disposal, and spill prevention of all hazardous waste IAW local, state, and federal laws.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience.
Journeyman level Painter preferred.
Residential and commercial/industrial practices and processes of the painting trade; paints, varnishes, lacquers, enamels, epoxies, paint removers, and related materials, and of their properties and application; applicable code requirements; methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance.
The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking.
Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
Valid State Driver's license required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance company.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position.
