Recreation Assistant (Head Lifeguard) NF-02
Duties As head lifeguard, oversees the accomplishment of work and evaluates swim facility operation efficiencies.
Assist manager by insuring adequate staffing of operations with personnel and the safety of users.
Directs lifeguards as required in the performance of their duties.
Performs checks and makes adjustments in water quality levels and insures that the pump rooms are maintained and operational.
As head lifeguard, supports the management team in decision making and responding to concerns of guests and users.
As lifeguard, responsible for the life guarding of guests at the swim facility.
Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required.
Coordinates and conducts in-service and water survival training.
Attends and or arranges for the conduct of aquatics and ocean front safety training.
Enforces and carries out policy and requirements.
Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as trained.
Performs other duties as assigned.
RequirementsConditions of Employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
In addition, the incumbent may be subject to additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements.
Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty.
Successful completion of a pre-employment physical is required for this position.
Must be physically fit in order to perform lifeguard duties.
Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity.
In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period.
Incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment.
QualificationsMinimum
Qualifications:
As head lifeguard, must hold current lifeguard, CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
A Lifeguard Instructor certificate is preferred.
Must have 12 months of experience as a lifeguard.
Must be able to use sound judgment, accomplish tasks within established time frames, and possess good people skills requiring the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct manner.
Must have experience with office functions such as preparing and managing reports.
The certification must be reflected on your resume and your certification uploaded at the time of application.
EducationThis job does not have an education qualification requirement.
